Sandra A. C. Glasgow, MBA

BizTactics’ Founder and Managing Director, Sandra A. C. Glasgow, is an accredited and experienced project conceptualiser, manager and fund raiser; Angel Investor, Company director, corporate governance and entrepreneurship trainer and mentor to growing firms, including those listed and planning to list on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange.

She has sat on many boards and is currently a Non-Executive Independent Director of the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (since 2002), chairing the Corporate Governance Committee and sitting on the Executive Committee, the Audit Committee, the Risk Committee and the Compensation Committee. She is a Trustee of the NCB Staff Superannuation Funds (1986 & 1999), Trustee and Chairman of NCB’s SMART Approved Retirement Scheme, an Independent Non-Executive Director, Deputy Chairman and Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee of eMedia Interactive Limited, an Independent-Non Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Medical Disposables and Supplies Limited, a director of DRT Communications Limited, YUTE Limited, the National Crime Prevention Fund (Crime Stop™) and Hillel Academy.  She is the Mentor to Medical Disposables and Supplies Limited, listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange; Lifespan Company Limited and other start-up companies. In the past she served for ten years and was Vice Chairman of the board of the National Export-Import (EX-IM) Bank of Jamaica; a member of the Boards of the Planning Institute of Jamaica and the GraceKennedy Foundation.

Mrs. Glasgow is certified as a Director by the Commonwealth Association for Corporate Governance (CACG, now defunct), a Trainer of Trainers in Corporate Governance Board Leadership by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Global Corporate Governance Forum (GCGF) a Trainer of Trainers in Business Ethics by the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) and the US Department of Commerce; a trainer in entrepreneurship development by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI-I), the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Business Development (NIESBUD) in Delhi, India and the National Institute of Small Industry Extension Training (NISIET), Hyderabad, India. She completed a certificate course in Managing the Non-Profit Organisation delivered by the Manitoba Institute of Management, Canada.

She was Jamaica’s Eisenhower Fellow in 2000, spending eight weeks as part of a Multi-Nation programme touring 15 cities in the USA and meeting with professionals in the business incubation and venture capital industries. She currently serves as a member  of the Eisenhower Fellowship’s Global National Council.

Among her many accomplishments, she is a past Chief Executive Officer of The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), Co-Chair of the Caribbean-Canada Emerging Leaders’ Dialogue in 2011, the Senior Vice President for Corporate Services at the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) and the Founder of the Technology Innovation Centre (TIC) at UTech. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the College of Arts, Science & Technology (now UTech) in 1994.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Zoology and Applied Botany and a Master of Business Administration, with a specialisation in the Management of Technology, both from the University of the West Indies, Mona.

She is a past student of St. Hugh’s High School and a recipient of the School’s Distinguished Past Student Award in 2003.
